I made the earth and the men and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power, and by my stretched-out arm: and I have given it to whom it seemed good in my eyes.
Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and thy maker from the womb: I am the Lord, that make all things, that alone stretch out the heavens, that establish the earth. And there is none with me.
Thus saith the Lord God that created the heavens and stretched them out: that established the earth and the things that spring out of it: that giveth breath to the people upon it, and spirit to them that tread thereon.
Thou thyself, O Lord alone, thou hast made heaven, and the heaven of heavens, and all the host thereof: the earth and all things that are in it: the seas and all that are therein. And thou givest life to all these things, and the host of heaven adoreth thee.
For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens, God himself that formed the earth and made it, the very maker thereof, he did not create it in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is no other.
Knowest thou not, or hast thou not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, who hath created the ends of the earth. He shall not faint nor labour, neither is there any searching out of his wisdom.
The burden of the word of the Lord upon Israel. Thus saith the Lord, who stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundations of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man in him:
It is he that sitteth upon the globe of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as locusts: he that stretcheth out the heavens as nothing and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and weighed the heavens with his palm? Who hath poised with three fingers the bulk of the earth and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?
Ask of the days of old, that have been before thy time from the day that God created man upon the earth, from one end of heaven to the other end thereof, if ever there was done the like thing, or it hath been known at any time:
Thus saith Cyrus king of the Persians: The Lord the God of heaven hath given to me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judea.
O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, who sittest upon the cherubims: thou alone art the God of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
And thou hast forgotten the Lord thy maker, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth: and thee hast been afraid continually all the day at the presence of his fury who afflicted thee, and had prepared himself to destroy thee. Where is now the fury of the oppressor?
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath created these things, who bringeth out their host by number and calleth them all by their names. By the greatness of his might and strength and power, not one of them was missing.
