And it hath served men for fuel. He took thereof and warmed himself, and he kindled it and baked bread. But of the rest he made a god and adored it: he made a graven thing and bowed down before it.

But Amasias, after he had slain the Edomites, set up the gods of the children of Seir, which he had brought thence, to be his gods: and adored them, and burnt incense to them.

And the rest of the men, who were not slain by these plagues, did not do penance from the works of their hands, that they should not adore devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and wood, which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

But the residue thereof he made a god and a graven thing for himself: he boweth down before it and adoreth it and prayeth unto it, saying: Deliver me, for thou art my God.

You that contribute gold out of the bag, and weigh out silver in the scales: and hire a goldsmith to make a god: and they fall down and worship.

And their land is filled with horses: and their chariots are innumerable. Their land also is full of idols: they have adored the work of their own hands, which their own fingers have made.
