Let the desert and the cities thereof be exalted: Cedar shall dwell in houses. Ye inhabitants of Petra, give praise: they shall cry from the top of the mountains.
All the flocks of Cedar shall be gathered together unto thee: the rams of Nabaioth shall minister to thee. They shall be offered upon my acceptable altar: and I will glorify the house of my majesty.
Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, and that preacheth peace: O Juda, keep thy festivals, and pay thy vows: for Belial shall no more pass through thee again, he is utterly cut off.

Thy arrogancy hath deceived thee, and the pride of thy heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rocks and endeavourest to lay hold on the height of the hill: but though thou shouldst make thy nest as high as an eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the Lord.
Leave the cities and dwell in the rock, you that dwell in Moab: and be ye like the dove that maketh her nest in the mouth of the hole in the highest place.
Behold, I come to thee that dwelleth in a valley upon a rock above a plain, saith the Lord. And you say: Who shall strike us and who shall enter into our houses?
The pride of thy heart hath lifted thee up, who dwellest in the clefts of the rocks, and settest up thy throne on high: who sayest in thy heart: Who shall bring me down to the ground?
