And I will cause all her mirth to cease, her solemnities, her new moons, her sabbaths, and all her festival times.

And the voice of harpers, and of musicians, and of them that play on the pipe, and on the trumpet, shall no more be heard at all in thee; and no craftsman of any art whatsoever shall be found any more at all in thee; and the sound of the mill shall be heard no more at all in thee;

And I will make the multitude of thy songs to cease, and the sound of thy harps shall be heard no more.

And I will cause to cease out of the cities of Juda and out of the streets of Jerusalem the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the brid egroom and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

And I will take away from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the mill and the light of the lamp.

For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will take away out of this place in your sight, and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

The harp and the lyre and the timbrel and the pipe and wine are in your feasts: and the work of the Lord you regard not, nor do you consider the works of his hands.

My harp is turned to mourning: and my organ into the voice of those that weep.

I will worship towards thy holy temple, and I will give glory to thy name. For thy mercy, and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy holy name above all.

Therefore hath hell enlarged her soul and opened her mouth without any bounds: and their strong ones and their people and their high and glorious ones shall go down into it.

And gladness and joy shall be taken away from Carmel: and there shall be no rejoicing nor shouting in the vineyards. He shall not tread out wine in the press that was wont to tread it out: the voice of the treaders I have taken away.

The ancients have ceased from the gates: the young men from the choir of the singers.

Thou wast in the pleasures of the paradise of God: every precious stone was thy covering: the sardius, the topaz, and the jasper, the chrysolite, and the onyx, and the beryl, the sapphire, and the carbuncle, and the emerald: gold the work of thy beauty: and thy pipes were prepared in the day that thou wast created.

Let that night be solitary, and not worthy of praise.

Wherefore now they shall go captive at the head of them that go into captivity: and the faction of the luxurious ones shall be taken away.
