Joy and gladness is taken away from Carmel and from the land of Moab, and I have taken away the wine out of the presses: the treader of the grapes shall not sing the accustomed cheerful tune.
And gladness and joy shall be taken away from Carmel: and there shall be no rejoicing nor shouting in the vineyards. He shall not tread out wine in the press that was wont to tread it out: the voice of the treaders I have taken away.
And they shall look to the earth, and behold trouble and darkness, weakness and distress, and a mist following them and they cannot fly away from their distress.
The nations have heard of thy disgrace and thy howling hath filled the land: for the strong hath stumbled against the strong, and both are fallen together.
The vineyard is confounded, and the fig tree hath languished: the pomegranate tree, and the palm tree, and the apple tree, and all the trees of the field are withered: because joy is withdrawn from the children of men.
