And he heard say about Tharaca the king of Ethiopia: He is come forth to fight against thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Ezechias, saying:
According to the number of the forty days, wherein you viewed the land: a year shall be counted for a day. And forty years you shall receive your iniquities, and shall know my revenge.
And take unto thee an iron pan and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city and set thy face resolutely against it: and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. It is a sign to the house of Israel.
In their sight thou shalt be carried out upon men's shoulders: thou shalt be carried out in the dark. Thou shalt cover thy face and shalt not see the ground: for I have set thee for a sign of things to come to the house of Israel.
Thus saith the Lord God: They also that uphold Egypt shall fall, and the pride of her empire shall be brought down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord the God of hosts.
Hear, O Jesus thou high priest, then and thy friends that dwell before thee, for they are portending men: for behold I WILL BRING MY SERVANT THE ORIENT.
And the sword shall come upon Egypt: and there shall be dread in Ethiopia, when the wounded shall fall in Egypt, and the multitude thereof shall be taken away, and the foundations thereof shall be destroyed.
