Will a virgin forget her ornament, or a bride her stomacher? But my people hath forgotten me days without number.

You have hoped in the Lord for evermore: in the Lord God, mighty for ever.

Thou hast forsaken the God that begot thee: and hast forgotten the Lord that created thee.

Let the mercies of the Lord give glory to him: and his wonderful works to the children of men.

The works of God are perfect, and all his ways are judgments: God is faithful and without any iniquity; he is just and right.

And Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and hath built temples: and Juda hath built many fenced cities: and I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the houses thereof.

O Lord, the hope of Israel: all that forsake thee shall be confounded: they that depart from thee shall be written in the earth: because they have forsaken the Lord, the vein of living waters.

They have sown wheat and reaped thorns: they have received an inheritance, and it shall not profit them: you shall be ashamed of your fruits, because of the fierce wrath of the Lord.

And thou hast forgotten the Lord thy maker, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth: and thee hast been afraid continually all the day at the presence of his fury who afflicted thee, and had prepared himself to destroy thee. Where is now the fury of the oppressor?

Behold, God is my saviour: I will deal confidently, and will not fear, because the Lord is my strength and my praise, and he is become my salvation.

Then they cried to the Lord in their affliction: and he delivered them out of their distresses.

Give joy to the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul.

For our God is not as their gods: our enemies themselves are judges.

Thou hast brought a vineyard out of Egypt: thou hast cast cut the Gentiles and planted it.

And say ye: Save us, O God our saviour; and gather us together; and deliver us from the nations: that we may give glory to thy holy name, and may rejoice in singing thy praises.

The beloved grew fat, and kicked: he grew fat, and thick and gross. He forsook God who made him: and departed from God his saviour.

Mayst thou take a wife, and another sleep with her. Mayst thou build a house, and not dwell therein. Mayest thou plant a vineyard and not gather the vintage thereof.

But if thou forget the Lord thy God, and follow strange gods, and serve and adore them: behold, now I foretell thee that thou shalt utterly perish.

Thy heart be lifted up, and thou remember not the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Take heed, and beware lest at any time thou forget the Lord thy God, and neglect his commandments and judgments and ceremonies, which I command thee this day.

And thou shalt have eaten and be full:

Your labour shall be spent in vain: the ground shall not bring forth her increase: nor the trees yield their fruit.

I also will do these things to you. I will quickly visit you with poverty, and burning heat, which shall waste your eyes, and consume your lives. You shall sow your seed in vain, which shall be devoured by your enemies.

And their strength shall become a booty, and their houses as a desert: and they shall build houses, and shall not dwell in them: and they shall plant vineyards, and shall not drink the wine of them.

But I will rejoice in the Lord: and I will joy in God my Jesus.

Therefore because you robbed the poor, and took the choice prey from him: you shall build houses with square stone, and shall not dwell in them: you shall plant most delightful vineyards, and shall not drink the wine of them.

My people have been silent, because they had no knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will reject thee, that thou shalt not do the office of priesthood to me: and thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.

Come and see the works of God; who is terrible in his counsels over the sons of men.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord hath not imputed sin, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

The heavens shew forth the glory of God, and the firmament declareth the work of his hands.

The Lord shall be known when he executeth judgments: the sinner hath been caught in the works of his own hands.

In that day, his strong cities shall be forsaken, as the ploughs, and the corn that were left before the face of the children of Israel: and thou shalt be desolate.

For before the harvest it was all flourishing, and it shall bud without perfect ripeness, and the sprigs thereof shall be cut off with pruning hooks: and what is left shall be cut away and shaken out.

Because thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the whirlwind, a shadow from the heat. For the blast of the mighty is like a whirlwind beating against a wall.

You shall have a song as in the night of the sanctified solemnity, and joy of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe, to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel.

O Lord, have mercy on us, for we have waited for thee: be thou our arm in the morning, and our salvation in the time of trouble.

Fear ye not, neither be ye troubled. From that time I have made thee to hear, and have declared: you are my witnesses. Is there a God besides me, a maker whom I have not known?

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, and my soul shall be joyful in my God. For he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation and with the robe of justice he hath covered me: as a bridegroom decked with a crown and as a bride adorned with her jewels.

Behold, the Lord hath made it to be heard in the ends of the earth. Tell the daughter of Sion: Behold, thy Saviour cometh. Behold, his reward is with him and his work before him.

A voice was heard in the highways, weeping and howling of the children of Israel: because they have made their way wicked, they have forgotten the Lord their God.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Because thou hast forgotten me and hast cast me off behind thy back, bear thou also thy wickedness and thy fornications.

The beasts have rotted in their dung, the barns are destroyed, the storehouses are broken down: because the corn is confounded.

They have taken gifts in thee to shed blood: thou hast taken usury and increase and hast covetously oppressed thy neighbours: and then hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God.
