And gladness and joy shall be taken away from Carmel: and there shall be no rejoicing nor shouting in the vineyards. He shall not tread out wine in the press that was wont to tread it out: the voice of the treaders I have taken away.

Joy and gladness is taken away from Carmel and from the land of Moab, and I have taken away the wine out of the presses: the treader of the grapes shall not sing the accustomed cheerful tune.

And in all vineyards there shall be wailing: because I will pass through in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.

Therefore because you robbed the poor, and took the choice prey from him: you shall build houses with square stone, and shall not dwell in them: you shall plant most delightful vineyards, and shall not drink the wine of them.

Went out into the fields, wasting the vineyards, and treading down the grapes. And singing and dancing they went into the temple of their god, and in their banquets and cups they cursed Abimelech.

And their strength shall become a booty, and their houses as a desert: and they shall build houses, and shall not dwell in them: and they shall plant vineyards, and shall not drink the wine of them.

For after days and a year, you that are confident shall be troubled: for the vintage is at an end, the gathering shall come no more.

They have taken their rest at noon among the stores of them who after having trodden the wine-presses suffer thirst.

There shall be a crying for wine in the streets: all mirth is forsaken: the joy of the earth is gone away.

The vineyard is confounded, and the fig tree hath languished: the pomegranate tree, and the palm tree, and the apple tree, and all the trees of the field are withered: because joy is withdrawn from the children of men.

Behold the days come, saith the Lord, when the ploughman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed: and the mountains shall drop sweetness, and every hill shall be tilled.

Destruction is come upon thee that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of slaughter is near, and not of the joy of mountains.
