For this, I will trouble the heaven: and the earth shall be moved out of her place: for the indignation of the Lord of hosts, and for the day of his fierce wrath.
And the Lord shall roar out of Sion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem: and the heavens and the earth shall be moved, and the Lord shall be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved:
But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief, in which the heavens shall pass away with great violence, and the elements shall be melted with heat, and the earth and the works which are in it, shall be burnt up.
Lamed. O all ye that pass by the way, attend, and see if there be any sorrow like to my sorrow: for he hath made a vintage of me, as the Lord spoke in the day of his fierce anger.
Lift up your eyes to heaven, and look down to the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish like smoke, and the earth shall be worn away like a garment, and the inhabitants thereof shall perish in like manner. But my salvation shall be for ever: and my justice shall not fail.
And all the host of the heavens shall pine away, and the heavens shall be folded together as a book: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth from the vine and from the fig-tree.
And they shall go into the holes of rocks and into the caves of the earth from the face of the fear of the Lord and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall rise up to strike the earth.
And it shall come to pass, that he that shall flee from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit and he that shall rid himself out of the pit, shall be taken in the snare: for the flood-gates from on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth shall be shaken.
COME down, sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon: sit on the ground. There is no throne for the daughter of the Chaldeans, for thou shalt no more be called delicate and tender.
Thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will raise up as it were a pestilential wind against Babylon and against the inhabitants thereof who have lifted up their heart against me.
