And I will give her vinedressers out of the same place, and the valley of Achor for an opening of hope: and she shall sing there according to the days of her youth, and according to the days of her coming up out of the land of Egypt.

And they shall dwell therein secure, and they shall build houses, and shall plant vineyards, and shall dwell with confidence, when I shall have executed judgments upon all that are their enemies round about: and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.

Go, and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying: Thus saith the Lord: I have remembered thee, pitying thy youth and the love of thy espousals, when thou followedst me in the desert, in a land that is not sown.

As the morning passeth, so hath the king of Israel passed away. Beacause Israel was a child, and I loved him: and I called my son out of Egypt.

And they gathered together upon him a great heap of stones, which remaineth until this present day. And the wrath of the Lord was turned away from them. And the name of that place was called the Valley of Achor, until this day.

And they abode no small time with the disciples.

I am the door. By me, if any man enter in, he shall be saved: and he shall go in, and go out, and shall find pastures.

And I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel: and they shall build the abandoned cities, and inhabit them: and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine of them: and shall make gardens, and eat the fruits of them. And I will plant them upon their own land: and I will no more pluck them out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God.

And I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth: and I will establish with thee an everlasting covenant.

And after all thy abominations and fornications, thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and full of confusion, trodden under foot in thy own blood.

And I passed by thee and saw thee: and, behold, thy time was the time of lovers: and I spread my garment over thee and covered thy ignominy. And I swore to thee and I entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God. And thou becamest mine.

And they shall build houses and inhabit them: and they shall plant vineyards and eat the fruits of them.

Return to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope, I will render thee double at, I declare to day.

Zain. These things I shall think over in my heart therefore will I hope.

For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.

And their heart was humbled with labours: they were weakened, and their was none to help them.

Then Israel sung this song: Let the well spring up. They sung thereto:

And I that am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, will yet cause thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the feast.

And the plains shall be turned to folds of flocks, and the valley of Achor into a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.

And I will destroy her vines, and her fig trees, of which she said: These are my rewards, which my lovers have given me: and I will make her as a forest, and the beasts of the field shall devour her.

A gradual canticle. Out of the depths I have cried to thee, O Lord:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Therefore, at least from this time call to me: Thou art my father, the guide of my virginity:

For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of affliction, to give you an end and patience.

Thus saith the Lord God: When I shall have gathered together the house of Israel out of the people among whom they are scattered: I will be sanctified in them before the Gentiles: and they shall dwell in their own land, which I gave to my servant Jacob.

But the Lord by a prophet brought Israel out of Egypt: and he was preserved by a prophet.

But I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt: and thou shalt know no God but me, and there is no saviour beside me.

And they remembered not the Lord their God, who delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies round about.

Nor was it enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat: but he also took to wife Jezabel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians. And he went, and served Baal, and adored him.
