Dan shall judge his people like another tribe in Israel.

To Dan also he said: Dan is a young lion: he shall flow plentifully from Basan.

And Rachel said: The Lord hath judged for me, and hath heard my voice, giving me a son. And therefore she called his name Dan.

And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.

Now there was a certain man of Saraa, and of the race of Dan, whose name was Manue, and his wife was barren.

The last of all the camp marched the sons of Dan by their troops: in whose army the prince was Ahiezer the son of Ammisaddai.

He saw rest that it was good: and the land that it was excellent. And he bowed his shoulder to carry, and became a servant under tribute.

Let Dan be a snake in the way, a serpent in the path, that biteth the horse's heels that his rider may fall backward.
