And they were both naked, to wit, Adam and his wife: and were not ashamed.

For whom hast thou been solicitous and afraid, that thou hast lied and hast not been mindful of me, nor thought on me in thy heart? For I am silent and as one that seeth not: and thou hast forgotten me.

Thy nakedness shall be discovered and thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and no man shall resist me.

And he said to him: And who hath told thee that thou wast naked, but that thou hast eaten of the tree whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldst not eat?

And all the people saw the voices and the flames, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mount smoking: and being terrified and struck with fear, they stood afar off,

Saying to Moses: Speak thou to us, and we will hear. Let not the Lord speak to us, lest we die.

Why shall we die therefore, and why shall this exceeding great fire consume us: for if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, we shall die.

If as a man I have hid my sin, and have concealed my iniquity in my bosom:
