I have two daughters who as yet have not known man: I will bring them out to you, and abuse you them as it shall please you, so that you do no evil to these men, because they are come in under the shadow of my roof.

I have a maiden daughter, and this man hath a concubine. I will bring them out to you, and you may humble them, and satisfy your lust: only, I beseech you, commit not this crime against nature on the man.

And not rather (as we are slandered, and as some affirm that we say) let us do evil, that there may come good? whose damnation is just.

And there was a cloud overshadowing them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying: This is my most beloved son; hear ye him.

Deal thy bread to the hungry and bring the needy and the harbourless into thy house: when thou shalt see one naked, cover him and despise not thy own flesh.

And he answered him: Let not my lord be offended: for thou knowest this people, that they are prone to evil.

And Ruben answered him: Kill my two sons, if I bring him not again to thee. Deliver him unto my hand, and I will restore him to thee.

And I will set a morsel of bread, and strengthen ye your heart, afterwards you shall pass on: for therefore are you come aside to your servant. And they said: Do as thou hast spoken.

Do not so, I beseech you, my brethren; do not commit this evil.

And the old man went out to them, and said: Do not so, my brethren, do not so wickedly, because this man is come into my lodging: and cease I pray you from this folly.

He that teacheth a scorner, doth an injury to himself: and he that rebuketh a wicked man, getteth himself a blot.
