And he thought him forth abroad, and said to him: Look up to heaven, and number the stars, if thou canst. And he said to him: So shall thy seed be.

For which cause there sprung even from one (and him as good as dead) as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

Who against hope believed in hope; that he might be made the father of many nations, according to that which was said to him: So shall thy seed be.

I alone am not able to bear you: for the Lord your God hath multiplied you, and you are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.

And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth: Thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: AND IN THEE AND THY SEED ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.

And I will multiply thy seed like the stars of heaven: and I will give to thy posterity all these countries. And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.

And again he said: I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, and it shall not be numbered for multitude.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, he shall be able to number thy seed also.

And I will make my covenant between me and thee: and I will multiply thee exceedingly.

And I took your father Abraham from the borders of Mesopotamia: and brought him into the land of Chanaan: and I multiplied his seed:

And thy servant is in the midst of the people which thou hast chosen, an immense people, which cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

And thou didst multiply their children as the stars of heaven: and broughtest them to the land concerning which thou hadst said to their fathers, that they should go in and possess it.

Look up to heaven and see, and behold the sky, that it is higher than thee.

Look unto Abraham your father and to Sara that bore you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and multiplied him.

And when he had slept there that night, he set apart, of the things which he had, presents for his brother Esau.
