And I went up according to revelation; and communicated to them the gospel, which I preach among the Gentiles, but apart to them who seemed to be some thing: lest perhaps I should run, or had run in vain.

But of them who seemed to be some thing, (what they were some time, it is nothing to me, God accepteth not the person of man,) for to me they that seemed to be some thing added nothing.

Holding forth the word of life to my glory in the day of Christ, because I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain.

For this cause also, I, forbearing no longer, sent to know your faith: lest perhaps he that tempteth should have tempted you, and our labour should be made vain.

And when they had known the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship: that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision:

I therefore so run, not as at an uncertainty: I so fight, not as one beating the air:

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumblingblock, and unto the Gentiles foolishness:

Know you not that they that run in the race, all run indeed, but one receiveth the prize? So run that you may obtain.

For I judged not myself to know anything among you, but Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

And all the multitude held their peace; and they heard Barnabas and Paul telling what great signs and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and ancients, declaring how great things God had done with them.

Receive him therefore with all joy in the Lord; and treat with honour such as he is.

To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, immediately I condescended not to flesh and blood.

And the night following the Lord standing by him, said: Be constant; for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

And the Lord said to Paul in the nights, by a vision: Do not fear, but speak; and hold not thy peace,

But one in the council rising up, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, respected by all the people, commanded the men to be put forth a little while.

Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves.

Dying flies spoil the sweetness of the ointment. Wisdom and glory is more precious than a small and shortlived folly.

And when Paul and Barnabas had no small contest with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of the other side, should go up to the apostles and priests to Jerusalem about this question.

So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

If I must glory (it is not expedient indeed): but I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel.

For neither did I receive it of man, nor did I learn it; but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

You did run well, who hath hindered you, that you should not obey the truth?

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us:
