Why art thou seduced, my son, by a strange woman, and art cherished in the bosom of another?

For the lips of a harlot are like a honeycomb dropping, and her throat is smoother than oil.

That thou mayst be delivered from the strange women, and from the stranger, who softeneth her words:

Let us make a covenant with the Lord our God, to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the will of the Lord, and of them that fear the commandment of the Lord our God. Let it be done according to the law.

And king Solomon loved many strange women besides the daughter of Pharao. And women of Moab, and of Ammon, and of Edom, and of Sidon, and of the Hethites:

For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons; and they have mingled the holy seed with the people of the lands. And the hand of the princes and magistrates hath been first in this transgression.
