Ezra 10:14

Let rulers be appointed in all the multitude. And in all our cities, let them that have taken strange wives come at the times appointed, and with them the ancients and the judges of every city, until the wrath of our God be turned away from us for this sin.

Harden not your necks, as your fathers did: Yield yourselves to the Lord, and come to his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever. Serve the Lord the God of your fathers; and the wrath of his indignation shall be turned away from you.

And there shall nothing of that anathema stick to thy hand: that the Lord may turn from the wrath of his fury, and may have mercy on thee, and multiply thee as he swore to thy fathers:

But yet the Lord turned not away from the wrath of his great indignation, wherewith his anger was kindled against Juda: because of the provocations, wherewith Manasses had provoked him.

But hear ye my counsel, and release the captives that you have brought of your brethren; because a great indignation of the Lord hangeth over you.

But as the people are many; and it is time of rain; and we are not able to stand without; and it is not a work of one day or two (for we have exceedingly sinned in this matter):

Then Jonathan the son of Azahel, and Jaasia the son of Thecua were appointed over this: and Mesollam and Sebethai, Levites, helped them.
