And he said to me: Son of man: Behold, I will break in pieces the staff of bread in Jerusalem. And they shall eat bread by weight and with care: and they shall drink water by measure and in distress.

I the Lord have spoken it. When I shall send upon them the grievous arrows of famine which shall bring death and which I will send to destroy you, I will gather together famine against you: and I will break among you the staff of bread.

FOR, behold, the sovereign the Lord of hosts, shall take away from Jerusalem and from Juda the valiant and the strong, the whole strength of bread, and the whole strength of water.

After I shall have broken the staff of your bread: so that ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and give it out by weight: and you shall eat, and shall not be filled.

Son of man, when a land shall sin against me, so as to transgress grievously, I will stretch forth my hand upon it and will break the staff of the bread thereof: and I will send famine upon it and will destroy man and beast out of it.

And they provoked Moses in the camp, Aaron the holy one of the Lord.

We fetched our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the desert.

And he said to me: Behold, I have given thee neat's dung for man's dung, and thou shalt make thy bread therewith.

And two and three cities went to one city to drink water, and were not filled: yet you returned not to me, saith the Lord.

And there was a great famine in Samaria: and so long did the siege continue, till the head of an ass was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cabe of pigeon's dung, for five pieces of silver.

The ninth day of the month. And a famine prevailed in the city; and there was no bread for the people of the land.
