For thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I will bring against Tyre Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, the king of kings, from the north, with horses and chariots and horsemen and companies and much people.

Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Esdras the priest, the most learned scribe of the law of the God of heaven, greeting:

And they shall come upon thee well appointed with chariot and wheel, a multitude of people: they shall be armed against thee on every side with breastplate and buckler and helmet: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee by their judgments.

But even though they shall have hired the nations, now will I gather them together: and they shall rest a while from the burden of the king, and the princes.

And he spoke kindly to him and he set his throne above the thrones of the kings that were with him in Babylon.

Behold, I will send, and take all the kindreds of the north, saith the Lord, and Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon my servant: and I will bring them against this land and against the inhabitants thereof and against all the nations that are round about it: and I will destroy them and make them an astonishment and a hissing and perpetual desolations.

Therefore behold, I will bring upon thee strangers the strongest of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy beauty.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I come against thee, O Tyre, and I will cause many nations to come up to thee, as the waves of the sea rise up.

That it may be a low kingdom and not lift itself up, but keep his covenant, and observe it.

And all the kings of Tyre and all the kings of Sidon: and the kings of the land of the islands that are beyond the sea.

They shall lay hold on arrow and shield: they are cruel and will have no mercy. Their voice shall roar like the sea: and they shall mount upon horses, prepared as men for war, against thee, O daughter of Sion.

Behold, he shall come up as a cloud, and his chariots as a tempest: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us, for we are laid waste!

The lion is come up out of his den, and the robber of nations hath roused himself: he is come forth out of his place to make thy land desolate. Thy cities shall be laid waste, remaining without an inhabitant.
