Son of man, set thy face against the way of the south, and drop towards the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field.

Son of man, set thy face against Pharao king of Egypt: and thou shalt prophesy of him, and of all Egypt:

Son of man, set thy face towards the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.

And take unto thee an iron pan and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city and set thy face resolutely against it: and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. It is a sign to the house of Israel.

Let my doctrine gather as the rain, let my speech distil as the dew: as a shower upon the herb, and as drops upon the grass.

To my words they durst add nothing: and my speech dropped upon them.

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

By the hand of thy servants thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said: With the multitude of my chariots I have gone up to the height of the mountains, to the top of Libanus: and I will out down its tall cedars and its choice fir-trees, and will enter to the top of its height, to the forest of its Carmel.

Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, thou son of man.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city, of which I will make a great bonfire.
