Thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the foolish prophets that follow their own spirit, and see nothing.

Nun. Thy prophets have seen false and foolish things for thee: and they have not laid open thy iniquity, to excite thee to penance: but they have seen for thee false revelations and banishments.

The days of visitation are come, the days of repaying are come: know ye, O Israel, that the prophet was foolish, the spiritual man was mad, for the multitude of thy iniquity, and the multitude of thy madness.

Son of man, prophesy concerning the shepherds of Israel: prophesy, and say to the shepherds: Thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the shepherds of Israel, that fed themselves: should not the hocks be fed by the shepherds?

Woe to the pastors that destroy and tear the sheep of my pasture, saith the Lord.

The heart of the wise seeketh instruction: and the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

He is proud, knowing nothing, but sick about questions and strifes of words; from which arise envies, contentions, blasphemies, evil suspicions,

For if I preach the gospel, it is no glory to me, for a necessity lieth upon me: for woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.

Woe to you lawyers, for you have taken away the key of knowledge: you yourselves have not entered in, and those that were entering in, you have hindered.

Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without, make also that which is within?

And the Lord said to me: Take to thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

And say: Thus saith the Lord God: Woe to them that sew cushions under every elbow and make pillows for the heads of persons of every age to catch souls: and when they caught the souls of my people, they gave life to their souls.

The tongue of the wise adorneth knowledge: but the mouth of fools bubbleth out folly.

But they shall proceed no farther; for their folly shall be manifest to all men, as theirs also was.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Hearken not to the words of the prophets that prophesy to you and deceive you. They speak a vision of their own heart. And not out of the mouth of the Lord.

And Jeremias the prophet said to Hananias the prophet: Hear now, Hananias: the Lord hath not sent thee, and thou hast made this people to trust in a lie.

Thy prophets, O Israel, were like foxes in the deserts.

To the prophets: My heart is broken within me, all my bones tremble: I am become as a drunken man, and as a man full of wine, at the presence of the Lord and at the presence of his holy words.
