And I saw, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, and a great cloud, and a fire infolding it! And brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof, that is, out of the midst of the fire, as it were the resemblance of amber.

And I saw as it were the resemblance of amber, as the appearance of fire within it round about: from his loins and upward, and from his loins downward, I saw as it were the resemblance of fire shining round about.

THE burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds come from the south, it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.

And his feet like unto fine brass, as in a burning furnace. And his voice as the sound of many waters.

For our God is a consuming fire.

Behold, I will send, and take all the kindreds of the north, saith the Lord, and Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon my servant: and I will bring them against this land and against the inhabitants thereof and against all the nations that are round about it: and I will destroy them and make them an astonishment and a hissing and perpetual desolations.

Set up the standard in Sion. Strengthen yourselves, stay not: for I bring evil from the north, and great destruction.

THE burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord will ascend upon a swift cloud and will enter into Egypt. And the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst thereof.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity.

So when they all sounded together, both with trumpets, and voice, and cymbals, and organs, and with divers kind of musical instruments, and lifted up their voice on high, the sound was heard afar off. So that when they began to praise the Lord, and to say: Give glory to the Lord for he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever, the house of God was filled with a cloud.

And he said to him: Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passeth. And a great and strong wind before the Lord over throwing the mountains, and breaking the rocks in pieces: the Lord is not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake: the Lord is not in the earthquake.

Say to them that daub without tempering, that it shall fall: for there shall be an overflowing shower, and I will cause great hailstones to fall violently from above and a stormy wind to throw it down.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Lo, I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in my indignation: and there shall be an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in my wrath to consume.

And I saw the vision according to the appearance which I had seen when he came to destroy the city: and the appearance was according to the vision which I had seen by the river Chobar: and I fell upon my face.

That in which were the black horses went forth into the land of the north, and the white went forth after them: and the grisled went forth to the land of the south.

And the hail and fire mixed with it drove on together: and it was of so great bigness, as never before was seen in the whole land of Egypt since that nation was founded.

And as they went on, walking and talking together, behold, a fiery chariot, and fiery horses parted them both asunder: and Elias went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Then the Lord answered Job out of a whirlwind, and said:
