And the Lord said to Moses: Pharao's heart is hardened; he will not let the people go.

For because sentence is not speedily pronounced against the evil, the children of men commit evils without any fear.

He also revolted from king Nabuchodonosor, who had made him swear by God. And he hardened his neck and his heart, from returning to the Lord the God of Israel.

And he did not humble himself before the Lord, as Manasses his father had humbled himself, but committed far greater sins.

And Pharao seeing that rest was given hardened his own heart, and did not hear them as the Lord had commanded.

And the Lord said to him as he was returning into Egypt: See that thou do all the wonders before Pharao, which I have put in thy hand. I shall harden his heart, and he will not let the people go.

And when Moses was gone from Pharao out of the city, he stretched forth his hands to the Lord: and the thunders and the hail ceased. Neither did there drop any more rain upon the earth.

And his heart was hardened, and the heart of his servants: and it was made exceeding hard. Neither did he let the children of Israel go, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses.

Why do you harden your hearts, as Egypt and Pharao hardened their hearts? Did not he, after he was struck, then let them go, and they departed?
