Let us have pity on the wicked: but he will not learn justice. In the land of the saints he hath done wicked things: and he shall not see the glory of the Lord.

While it is said, To day if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in that provocation.

For because sentence is not speedily pronounced against the evil, the children of men commit evils without any fear.

And it was told the king of the Egyptians that the people was fled. And the heart of Pharao and of his servants was changed with regard to the people, and they said: What meant we to do, that we let Israel go from serving us?

And the Lord said to him as he was returning into Egypt: See that thou do all the wonders before Pharao, which I have put in thy hand. I shall harden his heart, and he will not let the people go.

And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God, who hath power over these plagues, neither did they penance to give him glory.

What shall I do to thee, O Ephraim? what shall I do to thee, O Juda? your mercy is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that goeth away in the morning.

The man that with a stiff neck despiseth him that reproveth him, shall suddenly be destroyed: and health shall not follow him.

But Pharao called Moses and Aaron, and said to them: Pray ye to the Lord to take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.

And they gathered them together into immense heaps, and the land was corrupted.

And the Lord said to Moses: Say to Aaron, Stretch forth thy rod, and strike the dust of the earth. And may there be sciniphs in all the land of Egypt.

And Pharao said: I will let you go to sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness. But go no farther: pray for me.

And Moses said: I will go out from thee, and will pray to the Lord. And the flies shall depart from Pharao, and from his servants, and from his people tomorrow: but do not deceive any more, in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.

And Pharao's heart was hardened, so that neither this time would he let the people go.

Why do you harden your hearts, as Egypt and Pharao hardened their hearts? Did not he, after he was struck, then let them go, and they departed?

As a dog that returneth to his vomit, so is the fool that repeateth his folly.

If you send back the ark of the God of Israel, send it not away empty; but render unto him what you owe for sin. And then you shall be healed: and you shall know why his hand departeth not from you.

And you shall look: and if it go up by the way of his own coasts towards Bethsames, then he hath done us this great evil. But if not, we shall know that it is not his hand hath touched us, but it hath happened by chance.

And the kine took the straight way that leadeth to Bethsames; and they went along the way, lowing as they wen; and turned not aside neither to the right hand nor to the left. And the lords of the Philistines followed them as far as the borders of Bethsames.
