And the Lord, when he had ended these words in mount Sinai, gave to Moses two stone tables of testimony, written with the finger of God.

For this is the testament which I will make to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my laws into their mind, and in their heart will I write them: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

Being manifested, that you are the epistle of Christ, ministered by us, and written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in the fleshly tables of the heart.

Now if the ministration of death, engraven with letters upon stones, was glorious; so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses, for the glory of his countenance, which is made void:

At that time the Lord said to me: Hew thee two tables of stone like the former, and come up to me into the mount. And thou shalt make an ark of wood,

And when I came down from the burning mount, and held the two tables of the covenant with both hands:

Then he cut out two tables of stone, such as had been before: and rising very early he went up into the mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, carrying with him the tables.

And after this he said: Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the former: and I will write upon them the words which were in the tables, which thou brokest.

And Moses returned from the mount, carrying the two tables of the testimony in his hand, written on both sides,

And Josue hearing the noise of the people shouting said to Moses: The noise of battle is heard in the camp.

With an iron pen and in a plate of lead, or else be graven with an instrument in flint stone?
