Command the children of Israel that they bring thee the purest oil of the olives, and beaten with a pestle: that a lamp may burn always,
He shall receive a blessing from the Lord, and mercy from God his Saviour.
And it answered: Can I leave my fatness, which both gods and men make use of, to come to be promoted among the trees?
The altar of gold, and the ointment, and the incense of spices:
These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks, that stand before the Lord of the earth.
Oil to make lights: spices for ointment, and for sweet-smelling incense:
All the vessels of the tabernacle for all uses and ceremonies, and the pins both of it, and of the court, thou shalt make of brass.
And oil to maintain lights, and to make ointment, and most sweet incense:
And spices and oil for the lights, and for the preparing of ointment, and to make the incense of most sweet savour.
And thou shalt bring in the table, and set upon it the things that are commanded according to the rite. The candlestick shall stand with its lamps:
Before the lamp of God went out, Samuel slept in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was.
