And the Lord said to Moses: Come up to me into the mount, and be there. And I will give thee tables of stone, and the law, and the commandments which I have written: that thou mayst teach them.

These words the Lord spoke to all the multitude of you in the mountain, out of the midst of the fire and the cloud, and the darkness, with a loud voice, adding nothing more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, which he delivered unto me.

And the Lord, when he had ended these words in mount Sinai, gave to Moses two stone tables of testimony, written with the finger of God.

Having a golden censer, and the ark of the testament covered about on every part with gold, in which was a golden pot that had manna, and the rod of Aaron, that had blossomed, and the tables of the testament.

Being manifested, that you are the epistle of Christ, ministered by us, and written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in the fleshly tables of the heart.

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my law in their bowels and I will write it in their heart: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Now if the ministration of death, engraven with letters upon stones, was glorious; so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses, for the glory of his countenance, which is made void:

And he commanded me at that time that I should teach you the ceremonies and judgments which you shall do in the land, that you shall possess.

And Moses, entering into the midst of the cloud, went up into the mountain: and he was there forty days, and forty nights.

And when Moses was gone up, a cloud covered the mount.

And Moses alone shall come up to the Lord; but they shall not come nigh: neither shall the people come up with him.

He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Thou camest down also to mount Sinai, and didst speak with them from heaven: and thou gavest them right judgments, and the law of truth, ceremonies, and good precepts.

For Esdras had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do and to teach in Israel the commandments and judgment.

And after this he said: Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the former: and I will write upon them the words which were in the tables, which thou brokest.

But stand thou here with me: and I will speak to thee all my commandments, and ceremonies and judgments. Which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land, which I will give them for a possession.

And he said to him: Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passeth. And a great and strong wind before the Lord over throwing the mountains, and breaking the rocks in pieces: the Lord is not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake: the Lord is not in the earthquake.

And Moses went up to God. And the Lord called unto him from the mountain, and said: Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:

And the people seeing that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, gathering together against Aaron, said: Arise, make us gods, that may go before us; for as to this Moses, the man that brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what has befallen him.

Thou madest known to them thy holy sabbath, and didst prescribe to them commandments, and ceremonies, and the law, by the hand of Moses thy servant.
