But the prophet, who being corrupted with pride shall speak in my name things that I did not command him to say, or in the name of strange gods, shall be slain.
And the Lord heard the prayers of Israel, and delivered up the Chanaanite: and they cut them off and destroyed their cities. And they called the name of that place Horma, that is to say, Anathema.
They have quickly strayed from the way which thou didst shew them: and they have made to themselves a molten calf, and have adored it, and sacrificing victims to it, have said: These are thy gods, O Israel, that have brought thee out of the land of Egypt.
Make no covenant with the men of those countries: lest, when they have committed fornication with their gods, and have adored their idols, some one call thee to eat of the things sacrificed.
And they shall no more sacrifice their victims to devils, with whom they have committed fornication. It shall be an ordinance for ever to them and to their posterity.
