Thou shalt take an awl, and bore through his ear in the door of thy house, and he shall serve thee for ever. Thou shalt do in like manner to thy woman-servant also.

But he shall be as a hireling, and a sojourner: he shall work with thee until the year of the jubilee.

And if the servant shall say: I love my master and my wife and children, I will not go out free:

If any man sell his daughter to be a servant, she shall not go out as bondwomen are wont to go out.

But if he say: I will not depart; because he loveth thee, and thy house, and findeth that he is well with thee.
