And the people believed. And they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel: and that he had looked upon their affliction. And falling down they adored.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the just: and the way of the wicked shall perish.

Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he hath had regard to take away my reproach among men.

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.

Perhaps the Lord may look upon my affliction, and the Lord may render me good for the cursing of this day.

He shall look upon men, and shall say: I have sinned, and indeed I have offended, and I have not received what I have deserved.

And she made a vow, saying: O Lord, of hosts if thou wilt look down on the affliction of thy servant, and wilt be mindful of me, and not forget thy handmaid, and wilt give to thy servant a man child: I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.

In the mean time there arose a new king over Egypt, that knew not Joseph.

Seeing I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, and I will send thee into Egypt.

For the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have seen their affliction, wherewith they are oppressed by the Egyptians.

Moses told his kinsman all that the Lord had done to Pharao, and the Egyptians, in favour of Israel: and all the labour which had befallen them in the journey; and that the Lord had delivered them.

And we cried to the Lord God of our fathers: who heard us, and looked down upon our affliction, and labour, and distress:

I will give thee understanding, and I will instruct thee in this way, in which thou shalt go: I will fix my eyes upon thee.
