Therefore, as the tongue of the fire devoureth the stubble, and the heat of the flame consumeth it: so shall their root be as ashes, and their bud shall go up as dust: for they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and have blasphemed the word of the Holy One of Israel.

For behold the day shall come kindled as a furnace: and all the proud, and all that do wickedly shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall set them on fire, saith the Lord of hosts, it shall not leave them root, nor branch.

Behold, they are as stubble, fire hath burnt them, they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flames: there are no coals wherewith they may be warmed, nor fire, that they may sit thereat.

When thou wast mad against me, thy pride came up to my ears: therefore I will put a ring in thy nose and a bit between thy lips: and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

And the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment: and the holy God shall be sanctified in justice.

for his name alone is exalted.

He will not deprive of good things them that walk in innocence: O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

There is no other God like the God of the rightest: he that is mounted upon the heaven is thy helper. By his magnificence the clouds run hither and thither.

And falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him: Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor and gather his wheat into the barn; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.

There is none like to thee, O Lord: thou art great, and great is thy name in might.

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the temple of Nesroch his god, that Adramelech and Sarasar his sons slew him with the sword. And they fled into the land of Ararat: and Asarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

And the angel of the Lord went out, and slew in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand. And they arose in the morning, and behold, they were all dead corpses.

Whom hast thou reproached, and whom hast thou blasphemed, and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thy eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.

Incline, O Lord, thy ear, and hear: open, O Lord, thy eyes, and see. And hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he hath sent to blaspheme the living God.

Let the poor see and rejoice: seek ye God, and your soul shall live.

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the salvation of man.

And therefore have I raised thee, that I may shew my power in thee: and my name may be spoken of throughout all the earth.

For our God is a consuming fire.

And when Moses had stretched forth his hand towards the sea, it returned at the first break of day to the former place: and as the Egyptians were fleeing away, the waters came upon them, and the Lord shut them up in the middle of the waves.

Because the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

And the people was scattered through all the land of Egypt to gather straw.

He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength. Who hath resisted him, and hath had peace?
