The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they were sojourners in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought them out from thence,

Now the children of Israel departed from Ramesses the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the phase, with a mighty hand, in the sight of all the Egyptians,

And brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand, and a stretched-out arm, with great terror, with signs and wonders.

But he led them about by the way of the desert, which is by the Red Sea: and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.

And it shall be as a sign in thy hand, and as a memorial before thy eyes: and that the law of the Lord be always in thy mouth; for with a strong hand the Lord hath brought thee out of the land of Egypt.

And the Lord said to him as he was returning into Egypt: See that thou do all the wonders before Pharao, which I have put in thy hand. I shall harden his heart, and he will not let the people go.

And the Lord hardened Pharao's heart: and he hearkened not unto them, as the Lord had spoken to Moses.

For it was the sentence of the Lord, that their hearts should be hardened, and they should fight against Israel, and fall, and should not deserve any clemency, and should be destroyed as the Lord had commanded Moses.

And I will bring unto thee in the place of the torrent Cison Sisara the general of Jabin's army, and his chariots, and all his multitude, and will deliver them into thy hand.

many times did he deliver them. But they provoked him with their counsel: and they were brought low by their iniquities.
