And he thought him forth abroad, and said to him: Look up to heaven, and number the stars, if thou canst. And he said to him: So shall thy seed be.

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and magnify thy name: and thou shalt be blessed.

Moses said: We will go with our young and old, with our sons and daughters, with our sheep and herds: for it is the solemnity of the Lord our God.

And marching from Socoth, they encamped in Etham, in the utmost coasts of the wilderness.

Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel by their families, and houses: and the names of every one, as many as are of the male sex,
