The children of Israel increased, and sprung up into multitudes. And growing exceedingly strong they filled the land.

God said to him: I am the most mighty God of thy father. Fear not, go down into Egypt, for I will make a great nation of thee there.

And thou shalt speak thus in the sight of the Lord thy God: The Syrian pursued my father, who went down into Egypt, and sojourned there in a very small number, and grew into a nation great and strong and of an infinite multitude.

And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth.

So Israel dwelt in Egypt, that is, in the land of Gessen, and possessed it: and grew, and was multiplied exceedingly.

And said to him: I am God Almighty. Increase thou and be multiplied. Nations and peoples of nations shall be from thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins.

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and magnify thy name: and thou shalt be blessed.

And God blessed Noe and his sons. And he said to them: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth.

And thou didst multiply their children as the stars of heaven: and broughtest them to the land concerning which thou hadst said to their fathers, that they should go in and possess it.

In seventy souls thy fathers went down into Egypt: and, behold, now the Lord thy God hath multiplied thee as the stars of heaven.

And he said: I will cause thee to increase and multiply, and I will make of thee a multitude of people. And I will give this land to thee, and to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.

And I will bless her, and of her I will give thee a son, whom I will bless: and he shell become nations, and kings of people shall spring from him.

And they set at nought the desirable land. They believed not his word,

And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth: Thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: AND IN THEE AND THY SEED ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.

I will bless thee, and I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is by the seashore. Thy seed shall possess the gates of their enemies.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, he shall be able to number thy seed also.

God also said: Let the waters bring forth the creeping creature having life, and the fowl that may fly over the earth under the firmament of heaven.

And the children of Israel set forward from Ramesse to Socoth, being about six hundred thousand men on foot, beside children.

The angel that delivereth me from all evils bless these boys: and let my name be called upon them, and the names of my fathers Abraham, and Isaac: and may they grow into a multitude upon the earth.

And I will multiply thy seed like the stars of heaven: and I will give to thy posterity all these countries. And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.

And he thought him forth abroad, and said to him: Look up to heaven, and number the stars, if thou canst. And he said to him: So shall thy seed be.

The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they were sojourners in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought them out from thence,

Going forward from thence, he digged another well, for which they contended not: therefore he called the name thereof, Latitude, saying: Now hath the Lord given us room, and made us to increase upon the earth.

But the more they oppressed them, the more they were multiplied, and increased.

And Pharao said: The people of the land is numerous. You see that the multitude is increased: how much more if you give them rest from their works?

I caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field: and thou didst increase and grow great and advancedst and camest to woman's ornament. Thy breasts were fashioned and thy hair grew: and thou wast naked and full of confusion.
