But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men.

And because the midwives feared God, he built them houses.

But I will shew you whom you shall fear: fear ye him, who after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell. Yea, I say to you, fear him.

And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Let us all hear together the conclusion of the discourse. Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is all man:

By mercy and truth iniquity is redeemed: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

But though a sinner do evil a hundred times, and by patience be borne withal, I know from thence that it shall be well with them that fear God, who dread his face.

And the king called for them and said: What is that you meant to do, that you would save the men children?

And the king said to the messengers that stood about him: Turn, and kill the priests of the Lord. For their hand is with David: because they knew that he was fled; and they told it not to me. And the king's servants would not put forth their hands against the priests of the Lord.

But the king's words prevailed over the words of Joab, and of the captains of the army. And Joab, and the captains of the soldiers went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.
