And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices a very great store, and precious stones. There was brought no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Saba gave to king Solomon.

And they came to Ophir: and they brought from thence to king Solomon four hundred and twenty talents of gold.

I am this day fourscore years old. Are my senses quick to discern sweet and bitter? Or can meat or drink delight thy servant? Or can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? Why should thy servant be a burden to my lord, the king?

And the weight of the gold that was brought to Solomon every year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold.

You that sing to the sound of the psaltery: they have thought themselves to have instruments of music like David;

Besides their men-servants, and women-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven: and among them singing men, and singing women two hundred.

And the king made of the thyine-trees stairs in the house of the Lord, and in the king's house, and harps and psalteries for the singing men: never were there seen such trees in the land of Juda.

All these under their father's hand were distributed to sing in the temple of the Lord, with cymbals, and psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of the Lord, near the king: to wit, Asaph, and Idithun, and Heman.

Moreover David and the chief officers of the army separated for the ministry the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Idithun: to prophesy with harps, and with psalteries, and with cymbals according to their number serving in their appointed office.

And Roboam made shields of brass instead of them, and delivered them into the hand of the captains of the shieldbearers, and of them that kept watch before the gate of the king's house.

Moreover all the vessels, out of which king Solomon drank, were of gold: and all the furniture of the house of the forest of Libanus was of most pure gold: there was no silver, nor was any account made of it in the days of Solomon.

And Hiram sent to king Solomon a hundred and twenty talents of gold.

And he had seven hundred wives as queens, and three hundred concubines. And the women turned away his heart.

Vanity of vanities, said Ecclesiastes vanity of vanities, and all is vanity.
