Because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God: and he chose thee to be his peculiar people of all nations that are upon the earth.

But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

And they shall be my special possession, saith the Lord of hosts, in the day that I do judgment: and I will spare them, as a man spareth his son that serveth him.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.

And to make thee higher than all nations which he hath created, to his own praise, and name, and glory. That thou mayst be a holy people of the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken.

Israel is holy to the Lord, the first-fruits of his increase: all they that devour him offend: evils shall come upon them, saith the Lord.

You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore will I visit upon you all your iniquities.

For I know my iniquity, and my sin is always before me.

And spared not the original world, but preserved Noe, the eighth person, the preacher of justice, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.

The Lord will raise thee up to be a holy people to himself. As he swore to thee: If thou keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly from temptation, but to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be tormented.

The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they were sojourners in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought them out from thence,

Who are Israelites, to whom belongeth the adoption as of children, and the glory, and the testament, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises:

And I will take you to myself for my people. I will be your God: and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from the work prison of the Egyptians.

But the Lord hath taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace of Egypt, to make you his people of inheritance, as it is this present day.

But whatsoever is dead of itself eat not thereof. Give it to the stranger, that is within thy gates, to eat: or sell it to him: because thou art the holy people of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in the milk of his dam.

And the Lord hath chosen thee this day, to be his peculiar people, as he hath spoken to thee, and to keep all his commandments:

He hath loved the people: all the saints are in his hand. And they that approach to his feet shall receive of his doctrine.

And thy servant is in the midst of the people which thou hast chosen, an immense people, which cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

And there shall be still a tithing therein: and she shall turn, and shall be made a show as a turpentine-tree, and as an oak that spreadeth its branches. That which shall stand therein, shall be a holy seed.

In whom I have taken thee from the ends of the earth, and from the remote parts thereof have called thee, and said to thee: Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee and have not cast thee away.

And they shall call them: The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord. But thou shalt be called: A city sought after and not forsaken.

But to you I say: Possess their land which I will give you for an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the Lord your God, who have separated you from other people.

You shall be holy unto me, because I the Lord am holy: and I have separated you from other people, that you should be mine.

Because he loved thy fathers, and chose their seed after them. And he brought thee out of Egypt, going before thee with his great power,

And the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because the Lord hath sworn to make you his people.

For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons; and they have mingled the holy seed with the people of the lands. And the hand of the princes and magistrates hath been first in this transgression.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: and in my days I will call upon him.

Who alone doth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

But thou Israel art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend:

And say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: In the day when I chose Israel and lifted up my hand for the race of the house of Jacob, and appeared to them in the land of Egypt, and lifted up my hand for them, saying: I am the Lord your God:
