Ask of the days of old, that have been before thy time from the day that God created man upon the earth, from one end of heaven to the other end thereof, if ever there was done the like thing, or it hath been known at any time:

And he shall send his angels with a trumpet, and a great voice: and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the farthest parts of the heavens to the utmost bounds of them.

Unto the end, for them that shall be changed, for the sons of Core, for understanding. A canticle for the Beloved.

Remember the days of old: think upon every generation. Ask thy father, and he will declare to thee: thy elders and they will tell thee.

Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land: did this ever happen in your days, or in the days of your fathers?

And God created man to his own image; to the image of God he created him. Male and female he created them.

And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

If thou be driven as far as the poles of heaven, the Lord thy God will fetch thee back from thence.

The Lord answered: I will make a covenant in the sight of all. I will do signs such as were never seen upon the earth, nor in any nations: that this people, in the midst of whom thou art, may see the terrible work of the Lord which I will do.

Neither is there any other nation so great, that hath gods so nigh them, as our God is present to all our petitions.

The Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the farthest parts of the earth to the ends thereof. And there thou shalt serve strange gods, which both thou art ignorant of and thy fathers, wood and stone.

Blessed are thou, Israel: Who is like to thee, O people, that art saved by the Lord? The shield of thy help, and the sword of thy glory. Thy enemies shall deny thee, and thou shalt tread upon their necks.

And what nation is there upon earth, as thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for them great and terrible things, upon the earth, before the face of thy people, whom thou redeemedst to thyself out of Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

I made the earth: and I created man upon it. My hand stretched forth the heavens: and I have commanded all their host.

You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore will I visit upon you all your iniquities.
