Five of yours shall pursue a hundred others, and a hundred of you ten thousand. Your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

One of you shall chase a thousand men of the enemies: because the Lord your God himself will fight for you, as he hath promised.

A thousand men shall flee for fear of one: and for fear of five shall you flee, till you be left, as the mast of a ship on the top of a mountain and as an ensign upon a hill.

I will give thee understanding, and I will instruct thee in this way, in which thou shalt go: I will fix my eyes upon thee.

And the king shall greatly desire thy beauty; for he is the Lord thy God, and him they shall adore.

For thus saith the Lord: You were sold gratis, and you shall be redeemed without money.

And whereas there came a very small number of the Syrians, the Lord delivered into their hands an infinite multitude, because they had forsaken the Lord the God of their fathers. And on Joas they executed shameful judgments.

And the Lord being angry with Israel delivered them into the hands of Chusan Rasathaim king of Mesopotamia: and they served him eight years.

THUS saith the Lord: What is this bill of the divorce of your mother, with which I have put her away? Or who is my creditor, to whom I sold you? Behold, you are sold for your iniquities: and for your wicked deeds have I put your mother away.

If he shall overturn all things, or shall press them together, who shall contradict him?

And the Lord being angry against Israel, delivered them into the hands of plunderers: who took them and sold them to their enemies, that dwelt round about. Neither could they stand against their enemies:

And as he had not wherewith to pay it, his lord commanded that he should be sold, and his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made.

They have opened their mouths upon me, and reproaching me they have struck me on the cheek; they are filled with my pains.

You shall pursue your enemies: and they shall fall before you.

The works of God are perfect, and all his ways are judgments: God is faithful and without any iniquity; he is just and right.

There is none holy as the Lord is: for there is no other beside thee, and there is none strong like our God.

These were of the sons of Gad, captains of the army. The least of them was captain over a hundred soldiers, and the greatest over a thousand.

And the Lord shall give up Israel for the sins of Jeroboam, who hath sinned, and made Israel to sin.

So they arose in the evening, to go to the Syrian camp, And when they were come to the first part of the camp of the Syrians, they found no man there.
