The Lord will bring upon thee a nation from afar, and from the uttermost ends of the earth, like an eagle that flyeth swiftly, whose tongue thou canst not understand:
Behold, he shall come up as an eagle and fly: and he shall spread his wings over Bosra: and in that day the heart of the valiant ones of Edom shall be as the heart of a woman in labour.
And say: Thus saith the Lord God: A large eagle with great wings, long-limbed, full of feathers and of variety, came to Libanus and took away the marrow of the cedar.
Say to the provoking house: Know you not what these things mean? Tell them: Behold, the king of Babylon cometh to Jerusalem: and he shall take away the king and the princes thereof and carry them with him to Babylon.
They shall come in galleys from Italy: they shall overcome the Assyrians, and shall waste the Hebrews: and at the last they themselves also shall perish.
Nor to many nations of a strange speech and of an unknown tongue, whose words thou canst not understand: and if thou wert sent to them, they would hearken to thee.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost parts of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
The shameless people thou shalt not see, the people of profound speech: so that thou canst not understand the eloquence of his tongue, in whom there is no wisdom.
