When a man hath lately taken a wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall any public business be enjoined him: but he shall be free at home without fault, that for one year he may rejoice with his wife.

Let thy vein be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of thy youth:

What man is there, that hath espoused a wife, and not taken her? Let him go, and return to his house, lest he die in the war, and another man take her.

Wherefore a man shall leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be two in one flesh.

Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest, all the days of thy unsteady life, which are given to thee under the sun, all the time of thy vanity: for this is thy portion in life, and in thy labour wherewith thou labourest under the sun.
