But to the stranger. To thy brother thou shalt lend that which he wanteth, without usury: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all thy works in the land, which thou shalt go in to possess.

But thou shalt give to him. Neither shalt thou do any thing craftily in relieving his necessities: that the Lord thy God may bless thee at all times, and in all things to which thou shalt put thy hand.

Of the foreigner or stranger thou mayst exact it: Of thy countryman and neighbour thou shalt not have power to demand it again.

But whatsoever is dead of itself eat not thereof. Give it to the stranger, that is within thy gates, to eat: or sell it to him: because thou art the holy people of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in the milk of his dam.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmoveable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

And thou shalt be blessed, because they have not wherewith to make thee recompense: for recompense shall be made thee at the resurrection of the just.

He that hath mercy on the poor, lendeth to the Lord: and he will repay him.

The Lord will open his excellent treasure, the heaven, that it may give rain in due season: and he will bless all the works of thy hands. And thou shalt lend to many nations, and shalt not borrow of any one.

If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor, that dwelleth with thee: thou shalt not be hard upon them as an extortioner, nor oppress them with usuries.

Take not usury of him nor more than thou gavest. Fear thy God, that thy brother may live with thee.

And my heart thought with myself; and I rebuked the nobles and magistrates, and said to them: Do you every one exact usury of your brethren? And I gathered together a great assembly against them.

The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: it is thou that wilt restore my inheritance to me.

And it shall be as with the people, so with the priest: and as with the servant, so with his master: as with the handmaid, so with her mistress: as with the buyer, so with the seller: as with the lender, so with the borrower: as with him that calleth for his money, so with him that oweth.

Hath not lent upon usury, nor taken any increase: hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity and hath executed true judgment between man and man:

And my rage shall be enkindled, and I will strike you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
