Let them not dwell in thy land, lest perhaps thy make thee sin against me, if thou serve their gods: which undoubtedly will be a scandal to thee.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed:

Wherefore, Go out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing:

Be not seduced: Evil communications corrupt good manners.

Know ye for a certainty that the Lord your God will not destroy them before your face: but they shall be a pit and a snare in your way, and a stumbling-block at your side, and stakes in your eyes, till he take you away and destroy you from off this excellent land, which he hath given you.

Neither shalt thou take of their daughters a wife for thy son: lest after they themselves have committed fornication, they make thy sons also to commit fornication with their gods.

Conflicts of men corrupted in mind, and who are destitute of the truth, supposing gain to be godliness.

Wherefore I would not destroy them from before your face: that you may have enemies, and their gods may be your ruin.

And he that will not hear his words, which he shall speak in my name, I will be the revenger.

Beware thou never join in friendship with the inhabitants of that land, which may be thy ruin.

For it is not for thy justices, and the uprightness of thy heart that thou shalt go in to possess their lands. But because they have done wickedly, they are destroyed at thy coming in: and that the Lord might accomplish his word, which he promised by oath to thy fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

But shalt kill them with the edge of the sword: to wit, the Hethite, and the Amorrhite, and the Chanaanite, the Pherezite, and the Hevite, and the Jebusite, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee:

When thou hast besieged a city a long time, and hath compassed it with bulwarks to take it, thou shalt not cut down the trees that may be eaten of: neither shalt thou spoil the country round about with axes. For it is a tree, and not a man: neither can it increase the number of them that fight against thee.

And he turned, and built up the high places which Ezechias his father had destroyed. And he set up altars to Baal, and made groves, as Achab the king of Israel had done. And he adored all the host of heaven, and served them.

Thou shalt not enter into league with them, nor with their gods.

When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God shall give thee, beware lest thou have a mind to imitate the abominations of those nations.
