Let there be a trumpet in thy throat like an eagle upon the house of the Lord: because they have transgressed my covenant, and have violated my law.

And the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he said: Behold, this nation hath made void my covenant, which I had made with their fathers, and hath despised to hearken to my voice.

But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant, there have they dealt treacherously against me.

Because they hearkened not to the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed his covenant. All that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded, they would not hear nor do.

When you shall have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which he hath made with you, and shall have served strange gods, and adored them. Thou shalt bring forth the man or the woman, who have committed that most wicked thing, to the gates of thy city, and they shall be stoned.

And I will judge thee as adulteresses and they that shed blood are judged: and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.

Not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt: the covenant which they made void, and I had dominion over them, saith the Lord.

For I will bring them into the land, for which I swore to their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey. And when they have eaten, and are full and fat, they will turn away after strange gods, and will serve them: and will despise me, and make void my covenant.

And they shall answer: Because they forsook the covenant of the Lord, which he made with their fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

Lest perhaps there should be among you a man or a woman, a family or a tribe, whose heart is turned away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of those nations: and there should be among you a root bringing forth gall and bitterness.

Beware lest thou ever forget the covenant of the Lord thy God, which he hath made with thee: and make to thyself a graven likeness of those things which the Lord hath forbid to be made:

And I will bring in upon you the sword that shall avenge my covenant. And when you shall flee into the cities, I will send the pestilence in the midst of you. And you shall be delivered into the hands of your enemies,

If you despise my laws, and condemn my judgments so as not to do those things which are appointed by me, and to make void my covenant:

A man making void the law of Moses, dieth without any mercy under two or three witnesses:

He that sacrificeth to gods, shall be put to death, save only to the Lord.

And he turned, and built up the high places which Ezechias his father had destroyed. And he set up altars to Baal, and made groves, as Achab the king of Israel had done. And he adored all the host of heaven, and served them.

And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant and have not performed the words of the covenant which they agreed to in my presence, when they cut the calf in two and passed between the parts thereof:

Whosoever copulateth with a beast shall be put to death.

Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: If any man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that dwell in Israel, give of his seed to the idol Moloch, dying let him die: the people of the land shall stone him.

He answered them: Are you the avengers of Baal, that you fight for him? He that is his adversary, let him die before to morrow light appear: if he be a god, let him revenge himself on him that hath cast down his altar.
