Neither is his indignation against the people to be wondered at, since the Lord was angry with me also on your account, and said: Neither shalt thou go in thither.

And the Lord was angry with me for your words and he swore that I should not pass over the Jordan, nor enter into the excellent land, which he will give you.

And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron: Because you have not believed me, to sanctify me before the children of Israel, you shall not bring these people into the land, which I will give them.

And the Lord said to him: This is the land, for which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying: I will give it to thy seed. Thou hast seen it with thy eyes, and shalt not pass over to it.

And the Lord said to him: Take Josue, the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and put thy hand upon him.

Go up to the top of Phasga, and cast thy eyes round about to the west, and to the north, and to the south, and to the east, and behold it. For thou shalt not pass this Jordan.

And he said to them: I am this day a hundred and twenty years old. I can no longer go out and come in, especially as the Lord also hath said to me: Thou shalt not pass over this Jordan.

Thou shalt see the land before thee, which I will give to the children of Israel: but thou shalt not enter into it.

Command Josue, and encourage and strengthen him. For he shall go before this people: and shall divide unto them the land which thou shalt see.

Behold, I die in this land, I shall not pass over the Jordan. You shall pass, and possess the goodly land.
