And the Lord shall roar out of Sion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem: and the heavens and the earth shall be moved, and the Lord shall be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

And thou shalt prophesy unto them all these words, and thou shalt say to them: The Lord shall roar from on high and shall utter his voice from his holy habitation: roaring he shall roar upon the place of his beauty. The shout as it were of them that tread grapes shall be given out against all the inhabitants of the earth.

And though they be hid in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them away from thence: and though they hide themselves from my eyes in the depth of the sea, there will I command the serpent and he shall bite them.

How long shall the land mourn and the herb of every field wither for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? The beasts and the birds are consumed: because they have said: He shall not see our last end.

The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man: as a man of war shall he stir up zeal. He shall shout and cry: he shall prevail against his enemies.

He rebuketh the sea, and drieth it up: and bringeth all the rivers to be a desert. Basan languisheth and Carmel: and the dower of Libanus fadeth away.

And the Lord hath uttered his voice before the face of his army: for his armies are exceeding great, for they are strong and execute his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible: and who can stand it?

I will meet them as a bear that is robbed of her whelps, and I will rend the inner parts of their liver: and I will devour them there as a lion, the beast of the field shall tear them.

And I will bring Israel again to his habitation: and he shall feed on Carmel and Bason, and his soul shall be satisfied in mount Ephraim and Galaad.

Judea hath mourned, and the gates thereof are fallen and are become obscure on the ground, and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.

It shall bud forth and blossom, and shall rejoice with joy and praise. The glory of Libanus is given to it: the beauty of Carmel, and Saron. They shall see the glory of the Lord and the beauty of our God.

The land hath mourned and languished: Libanus is confounded and become foul. And Saron is become as a desert: and Basan and Carmel are shaken.

As the roaring of a lion, so also is the dread of a king: he that provoketh him, sinneth against his own soul.

Now there was a certain man in the wilderness of Maon, and his possessions were in Carmel. And the man was very great: and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats. And it happened that he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.

God is ascended with jubilee, and the Lord with the sound of trumpet.

The prophets that have been before me and before thee from the beginning and have prophesied concerning many countries and concerning great kingdoms, of war and of affliction and of famine.

They shall walk after the Lord, he shall roar as a lion: because he shall roar, and the children of the sea shall fear.

To thee, O Lord, will I cry: because fire hath devoured the beautiful places of the wilderness, and the flame hath burnt all the trees of the country.

Thou hast brought forth, O Lord, my soul from hell: thou hast saved me from them that go down into the pit.
