And many that are first, shall be last: and the last shall be first.

I have heard and my bowels were troubled: my lips trembled at the voice. Let rottenness enter into my bones, and swarm under me. That I may rest in the day of tribulation: that I may go up to our people that are girded.

My hand made all these things, and all these things were made, saith the Lord. But to whom shall I have respect, but to him that is poor and little and of a contrite spirit, and that trembleth at my words?

I saw his ways, and I healed him and brought him back, and restored comforts to him and to them that mourn for him.

And Saul saw the army of the Philistines, and was afraid: and his heart was very much dismayed.

But he giveth greater grace. Wherefore he saith: God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

This was the vision of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw, and I fell upon my face, and I heard the voice of one that spoke. And he said to me: Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak to thee.

And the hand of the Lord was upon me, and he said to me: Rise and go forth into the plain, and there I will speak to thee.

Who said: Who art thou, Lord? And he: I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. It is hard for thee to kick against the goad.
