Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written: Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Who his own self bore our sins in his body upon the tree: that we, being dead to sins, should live to justice: by whose stripes you were healed.

And we are witnesses of all things that he did in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed, hanging him upon a tree.

But he said: The God of our fathers hath preordained thee that thou shouldst know his will, and see the Just One, and shouldst hear the voice from his mouth.

This same God hath fulfilled to our children, raising up Jesus, as in the second psalm also is written: Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

To you first God, raising up his Son, hath sent him to bless you; that every one may convert himself from his wickedness.

To perform mercy to our fathers, and to remember his holy testament,

As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed for ever.

Blessed be the Lord the God of our fathers, who hath put this in the king's heart, to glorify the house of the Lord, which is in Jerusalem,

O Lord God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep for ever this will of their heart: and let this mind remain always for the worship of thee.

And David went out to meet them, and said: If you are come peaceably to me to help me, let my heart be joined to you. But if you plot against me for my enemies whereas I have no iniquity in my hands, let the God of our fathers see, and judge.
