Now when Esdras was thus praying, and beseeching, and weeping, and lying before the temple of God, there was gathered to him of Israel an exceeding great assembly of men and women and children: and the people wept with much lamentation.

And he distributed to all the multitude of Israel, both men and women, to every one, a cake of bread, and a piece of roasted beef, and fine flour fried with oil. And all the people departed every one to his house.

Both men and women gave bracelets and earrings, rings and tablets: every vessel of gold was set aside to be offered to the Lord.

For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith. And a great multitude was added to the Lord.

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever?
