For this cause therefore I desired to see you, and to speak to you. Because that for the hope of Israel, I am bound with this chain.

Wherein I labour even unto bands, as an evildoer; but the word of God is not bound.

For which I am an ambassador in a chain, so that therein I may be bold to speak according as I ought.

So that my bands are made manifest in Christ, in all the court, and in all other places;

And Paul said: I would to God, that both in a little and in much, not only thou, but also all that hear me, this day, should become such as I also am, except these bands.

I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation in which you are called,

For this cause, I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ, for you Gentiles;

Having hope in God, which these also themselves look for, that there shall be a resurrection of the just and unjust.

And Paul knowing that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, cried out in the council: Men, brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of Pharisees: concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

Then the tribune coming near, took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains: and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

I beseech thee for my son, whom I have begotten in my bands, Onesimus,

Immediately therefore I sent to thee: and thou hast done well in coming. Now therefore all we are present in thy sight, to hear all things whatsoever are commanded thee by the Lord.

Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered to me in the bands of the gospel:

But is now made manifest by the illumination of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath destroyed death, and hath brought to light life and incorruption by the gospel:

The salutation of Paul with my own hand. Be mindful of my bands. Grace be with you. Amen

And after the third day, he called together the chief of the Jews. And when they were assembled, he said to them: Men, brethren, I, having done nothing against the people, or the custom of our fathers, was delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans;

For which cause, making no doubt, I came when I was sent for. I ask, therefore, for what cause you have sent for me?

The word that came to Jeremias from the Lord, after that Nabuzardan the general had let him go from Rama, when he had taken him, being bound with chains, among all them that were carried away from Jerusalem and Juda, and were carried to Babylon.
